A few years ago my husband and I took our 42 foot boat on a six week adventure from Cleveland, Ohio through Lake Erie and Lake Huron to Tobermory in the Brice Peninsula in Canada. We traveled by ourselves and explored many stops along the way, staying in different marinas on our boat mostly on the Canadian side. It took a lot of planning gas stops and finding transient dockage along the way. This adventure was something I will always cherish. Sometimes we were far out on the Great Lakes where no land or other boats were around. We planned hard for the trip making sure we had safety equipment such as a marine radio and GPS system, food and water. We met some interesting people and explored many beautiful places when we would make stops along the way. We even had a bear walk right in front of us while hiking In the Upper Peninsula. I will forever remember this adventure filled with beauty and a test of our boating travel skills.
